Have Your Say on BC's Climate Leadership Plan: Deadline September 14
August 30, 2015
In April 2015 the British Columbia government signaled its intention to build on B.C.’s current Climate Action Plan. In May the Province’s Climate Leadership Team was named, and plans for public engagement on new climate actions to support a growing economy were announced.
From July 17th to August 17th British Columbians were asked to review the Climate Leadership Discussion Paper and share their priorities regarding climate action – how they live, travel, work and what they value. Participants were asked for feedback in an online survey which will help government build the next phase of climate action.
The survey is now closed and the government is inviting organizations to submit additional information via email (firstname.lastname@example.org). The BC Government will accept written submissions on the Discussion Paper until September 14, 2015.
All separate submissions provided by email will be posted publicly. Feedback from the consultation period will be provided to the Climate Leadership Team to help inform the recommendations for climate action it will provide government. After reviewing discussion paper submissions and the Climate Leadership Team’s recommendations, government will release a draft Climate Leadership Plan for public comment in December 2015.A final Climate Leadership Plan will be unveiled in Spring 2016.
The CCHPG is developing a submission to contribute to this process.
